At Happy Dogz, we believe great grooming is built on trust, communication, and genuine care for dogs and their people. These Terms & Conditions exist to ensure clarity, fairness, and the best possible experience for everyone.
By booking an appointment with Happy Dogz, you agree to the following:
All grooming services are provided by appointment unless otherwise stated. Bookings are confirmed only once acknowledged by our team.
By requesting and confirming a booking, you acknowledge and accept these Terms & Conditions.

We kindly ask clients to:
We reserve time specifically for your dog and kindly require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for appointment cancellations or rescheduling.
Cancellations or changes within 48 hours may incur a 50% cancellation fee of the booked service
No-show appointments attract a 100% fee
We understand that life and emergencies can arise. In genuine and unforeseen circumstances, cancellation fees may be waived at our discretion, and we always aim to act with fairness and understanding.
Likewise, there may be rare occasions where Happy Dogz needs to reschedule or cancel an appointment due to circumstances beyond our control, such as staff illness or unexpected emergencies. When this occurs, we will communicate as early as possible and work with you to arrange a suitable alternative.
This policy exists to ensure mutual respect for time and circumstances.
Pick-up time will depend on your dog’s size, coat type, behaviour, and the service provided. As a general guide, most full grooms are completed within 1.5 to 2 hours, although timing may vary.
Once your dog’s groom is complete, we will notify you by text. We kindly ask that dogs are collected within 30 to 45 minutes of notification, as we have limited space and do not offer daycare services.
If a dog needs to remain at the salon significantly longer than arranged, an additional holding fee of $20 may apply.
If you have a time-sensitive commitment, such as a medical appointment, please let us know in advance so we can do our best to accommodate your needs.
The wellbeing of every dog is our top priority.
Clients are responsible for disclosing any relevant information prior to the appointment, including:
If a dog becomes overly stressed or unsafe to groom, we may modify or stop the service to protect the dog’s welfare and the safety of our team.
Grooming outcomes depend on coat condition, behaviour, and what can be achieved safely and humanely.
Heavily matted coats may require shorter clipping for comfort and skin health. Dematting is not always suitable and may be declined if it causes discomfort or risk. Any necessary changes will be discussed with you.
Additional services such as teeth cleaning, ear plucking, anal gland expression, and the use of medicated or sensitive-skin shampoo are available by request only and incur an additional charge.
All add-on services are assessed on the day and provided only where appropriate. If veterinary care is required, we will advise you before proceeding.
If fleas or ticks are identified during the groom, appropriate treatment may be applied at your expense, or collection may be requested. This helps protect your dog, other dogs, and our team.
Payment is due at pick-up. We accept cash and credit or debit card payments.
From time to time, Happy Dogz may take photos or short videos of dogs for grooming records, training, or marketing purposes.
Images or videos are used for social media or promotional content only with client consent, which can be withdrawn at any time. We fully respect your preferences.
We genuinely value feedback.
If something does not feel right, or if you are not happy with an aspect of your dog’s groom, we kindly ask that you let us know at pick-up or contact us as soon as possible.
On rare occasions, small details such as nail clipping may be missed. If this happens, please reach out and we will be happy to resolve it promptly. It is difficult to address concerns we are not aware of.
Clear and timely communication helps us understand expectations, improve where needed, and continue delivering care that meets and exceeds them.
Grooming involves handling animals, sharp tools, equipment, and exposure to noise and movement, which may carry inherent risks despite the highest standards of care.
By booking a service with Happy Dogz, you acknowledge and accept that:
Dogs may experience minor, unforeseen reactions such as skin irritation, clipper sensitivity, or behavioural responses
Pre-existing conditions, matting, skin issues, age-related factors, or behavioural sensitivities may affect grooming outcomes
Grooming may reveal underlying skin or health concerns that were not visible prior to the service
Happy Dogz will always act in the best interests of your dog’s welfare and safety and take all reasonable care. However, we cannot be held liable for conditions or reactions that are beyond our control or arise from factors not disclosed prior to the appointment.
Clients agree to release Happy Dogz, its owners, and staff from liability for injury, illness, or loss resulting from grooming services, except where caused by proven negligence.
This clause does not limit your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Clients confirm that all information provided about their dog’s health, behaviour, and history is accurate to the best of their knowledge.
Happy Dogz is a place of care, respect, and kindness, for dogs and for people.
We love dogs, and caring for them is the very reason we operate a grooming business. Equally, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive workplace for our staff.
We have a zero tolerance policy for abusive, aggressive, threatening, or disrespectful behaviour toward our team, whether in person, over the phone, via text, online, or through social media.
Any form of abuse directed at our staff may result in:
Immediate refusal or termination of service
Cancellation of current or future appointments
Permanent refusal of service
This decision will be made at our discretion and without obligation to continue service.
We expect all interactions to be conducted with courtesy and respect. We are always open to feedback and communication; however, abuse of any kind will never be accepted.
Happy Dogz is committed to providing high-quality grooming using experienced staff, premium products, and safe, professional equipment.
Our prices reflect the time, skill, care, and resources required to groom each dog and are influenced by factors such as wages, rent, utilities, product costs, and general operating expenses. Like all small businesses, Happy Dogz is not immune to ongoing cost-of-living pressures.
From time to time, we may be required to review and adjust our prices to ensure the continuity, quality, and sustainability of our services. Any pricing changes will be communicated clearly and as early as possible via our website, in-salon notices, Facebook page or direct communication where appropriate.
Price guides provided on our website or in-salon are indicative only and may vary based on coat condition, size, behaviour, time required, and the services requested. Any significant variation will be discussed where possible.
We remain committed to offering fair, competitive, and transparent pricing, and any changes are made carefully and with consideration for our clients and community.
